How do I get back a chapter or note I deleted?
Deleted chapters, scenes, notes, comments, cards and Codex entries wait in Recently Deleted until you delete them forever, so you can put them back where they were.
Before you start
- If you're only trying this out, delete something from a copy of your project.
Steps
To delete a chapter, right-click it in the sidebar and choose Delete. PugWriter asks you to confirm before it moves it to the Trash.
Delete is at the bottom of the chapter's menu. To get it back, choose View ▸ Recently Deleted.
Find the item under its kind, such as Chapters and scenes. Each row says where it was, which draft it was in and when it was deleted.
Not sure it's the right one? Press Peek to read it first.
Press Restore.
Peek shows the deleted text before you restore it. It goes back to the same place in the same draft, and a message says it was restored.
The chapter is back where it was. Only when you're sure you won't want something again, press Delete Forever on its row. Prune and Empty All clear older or all items, and both ask first.
Click a screenshot to see it larger, then use the arrow keys to step through them.
Check it worked
- Open the restored chapter and check its text is complete.
- Check it is back in its old position in the sidebar.
