How do I see a chapter's plan while I write?
The Inspector's Outline shows the scene cards for the chapter you're writing, beside the text, so you can move between plan and prose.
Steps
Open a chapter from the Manuscript section of the sidebar.
Choose View ▸ Inspector ▸ Show Outline. The Inspector on the right lists the chapter's scenes with their cards, then cards Not yet placed.
Click a scene or a card to show that scene in the text.
On a card that isn't placed yet, choose Place at a break ▾ to attach it to a scene, or Create the scene here to start a new scene at your cursor.
Cards not yet placed can be tied to a scene from here. Press + Scene card to add a card for this chapter, or Plot Grid → to jump back to the full plan.
Click a screenshot to see it larger, then use the arrow keys to step through them.
Check it worked
- Make a change on the Plot Grid, come back to the chapter, and check the Outline shows it.
